Having a hard time remembering faces and their names? The answer is this app called FaceMatch LDS 1.0 now available in ITunes/Apple App Store and Android Market. This is tailored to aid us in remembering leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints past and present. It is designed as a puzzle/game format for youngsters and adults alike.
The App's Mission:
I conceptualized this application remembering those early morning companionship study in the mission field for the church. Besides the scripture study and mastery, we had to test each other in recognizing General Authorities names and faces. Thus FaceMatch LDS came to pass.
Why 99 cents at the app store?
The Answer:
Prospective full-time missionaries in the Philippines and other third world countries.
The Purpose:
I remember growing up in the Philippines and turning to the age where you know you have the responsibility/duty to go on a full-time mission. Scarcity of jobs and hardships in the country made it difficult to prepare all the needful things like shirts, shoes, ties and other incidentals needed to go. Some have single pair of clothing packed in an old suitcase.
To help assist those worthy young men and women in those countries in their preparation to go, I will be dedicating 100% of the proceeds of the app sales to create a fund and possibly an organization to purchase shirts, shoes, ties and other incidentals to get them ready to serve. At the same time helping our primary kids and us adults in identifying faces with the names of our General Authorities.
Note: Funds acquired will not be used to support a two-year mission. The sole purpose is to assist young men and women in third world countries prepare and get the needful things and relieve stress to the prospective Elder or Sister before they go and serve.
